On Friday October, 10th the second single "RIGHT NEXT TO NOTHING" (SONGS&WHISPERS/Broken Silence) by Ben Lorentzen feat. Daisy Chapman will be released. It is the second outing of the upcoming album "King of Bitter Sorrow" which will be released early 2020 by the norwgeian singer-songwriter.

 

"RIGHT NEXT TO NOTHING" is a duet with the english artist Daisy Chapman. Recorded at Studio Nord (Bremen) under direction of Pascal El Sauaf with artist of RONDA and SOMEDAY JACOB. Mixing was done by Simon Nordberg and mastering by Matt Colton (Metropolis, New York). The artwork was done by Kevin Yoon and is based on pictures by Christian Nystrom.

 

Ben Lorentzen writes about the track: "Flat out: I am proud of this song, and I am proud of this video! It was written together with my good friend and musical brother Christian Nystrøm. We wrote it inside a creative avalanche, a volcano of 40 songs that forced itself into reality in a two months period. This one, and some others were then offered to Paal Flaata (Midnight Choir) who recorded it for his solo album "Rain". Great version!

Sitting down to write the lyrics I heard this song as a timeless whisper between two souls that are singing to each other throughout the ages. It's an endless call for "the other one", someone you can trust even when nothing is left. This call has always been at the heart of us humans, it will always be. So I simplistic, surreal, Lynch-like vibe is what we were going for."

Am Freitag den 04.10.2019 erscheint mit "RIGHT NEXT TO NOTHING" (SONGS&WHISPERS/Broken Silence) die zweite Auskupplung aus dem kommenden Album "KING OF BITTER SORROW" des norwegischen Songwriters Ben Lorentzen. Das Album kommt am Freitag den 28.02.2020 heraus.


"RIGHT NEXT TO NOTHING" präsentiert Ben Lorentzen im Duet mit der englischen Singer-Songwriterin Daisy Chapman. Das Album wurde im STUDIO NORD (Bremen) unter der Regie von Paslac El Sauaf, unter anderem in Zusammenarbeit mit Musikern der Band RONDA und SOMEDAY JACOB aufgenommen. Der Mix erfolgte durch Simon Nordberg. Für das Mastering zeichnet Matt Colton (Metroplois, New York) verantwortlich. Das Artwwrk von Kevin Yoon basiert auf Bildern von Christian Nystrom.

 

Ben Lorentzen schreibt über das Lied: "Ganz ehrlich: Ich bin sehr stolz auf das Lied und auf das Video. Geschrieben habe ich e smit meinem guten Freund und musikalischem Bruder Christian Nystrøm. Das Lied wurde in einer Kreativlawine von ihm geschrieben, ein vulkanisches Schreiben von 40 Liedern innerhalbt von nur zwei Monaten. Dieser und andere Lieder wurden Paal Flaata (Midnight Choir) angeboten, der es auch für sein Solo Album "Rain" benutzt hat. Sehr schöne Version!

 

Als ich mich an die Lyriks gemacht habe, höhrte ich das Lied als ein Dialog zwischen zwei entfernten Seelen. Ein endloses Rufen nach dem Anderen, jemandem dem man vertrauen kann, auch wenn nichts geblieben ist. Dieses Verlangen und Rufen liegt tief in uns allen, und wird es auch immer bleiben. Daher haben wir uns für eine einfache, unechte, Lynch-inspirirte Stummung entschieden."
