On his sophomore release, Nico Rivers takes a departure from the existential to explore his hometown during the lockdown of 2020, Masquerade of Lullabies takes listeners on a journey through the songwriter´s past. The songs also explore new sounds and production styles as Rivers continues to bend the rules of "folk" music and sound design.

The record opens with a ballad to his hometown and the friendship that have lasted his lifetime, while the tracks Edge of a Knife and Even Holding tell the stories of friends he has lost along the way.

As with his previous release, Tiny Death, the tracks range from minimal and melancholy folk tracks to upbeat rock songs focused on storytelling.

"Masquerade of Lullabies" nimmt den Hörer mit auf eine Reise durch die Vergangenheit des Songwriters. Rivers orientiert sich für das Album an neuen Produktionsstilen und erweitert so seine Spielart des "Folk" mit magischen Fieldrecordings und vielfältigen Sounddesigns.
