Die Sängerin, Songwriterin, Pianistin und Streicherarrangeurin Daisy Chapman ist eine weit gereiste Musikerin, die ihre Einflüsse sowohl aus der Anti-Folk- als auch aus der klassischen Musik bezieht.
Es ist schwer, Daisy Chapmans eigenen Stil zu beschreiben. Ein fiktives Treffen von Neil Hannon mit Regina Spektor könnte der erste Versuch einer Beschreibung darstellen. Live birgt jeder Song eine dunkle Geschichte von Liebe, Lust und Verlust, die durch die Stimme von Daisy Chapman und Sue Lord an der Violine facettenreich auserzählt wird.
Mit „She Took Flight“ unterstreicht Daisy Chapman ihre Qualität als Songwriterin und Arrangeurin. Sie erzählt in gewohnt gekonnter Art und Weise, mit einem reichen und vollen Sound. Ihre Musik ist ebenso warm wie, detailliert, druckvoll und cineastisch. Streichersektion, Perkussion und Kontrabass unterstützen das Piano und die Stimme von Daisy Chapman im Erzählen ausgefeilter Geschichten. Daisy Chapman trat als Teil von Crippled Black Phoenix gemeinsam mit Mitgliedern von Portishead und Hawkwind auf und ist auch Leadsängerin der neuen Prog – Rock Band Venus Principle. Als Backing Sängerin für bekannte Künstler:innen hat sie ihre Fähigkeiten vielfach unter Beweis gestellt.
Als Performerin blickt Daisy Chapman auf Festivalauftritte wie Glastonbury, 2000 Trees, das Migration Festival in Taiwan oder die Breminale (Deutschland) und weltweite Tourneen zurück.
Ungeachtet aller Vielseitigkeit stellen ihre eigene Stimme, ihr eigener Stil und Ausdruck ihr unverwechselbares Markenzeichen dar. Diese machen Daisy Chapman seit vielen Jahren als Künstlerin unverwechselbar und weltweit erfolgreich.

Singer, songwriter, pianist and string arranger Daisy Chapman is an incredibly well-travelled musician who draws influences from both the anti-folk and classical world. It’s hard to pinpoint Daisy’s unique style, but think Neil Hannon meets Regina Spektor, and you're close. Live, every song harbours a dark story of love, lust and loss told through her exquisite voice with Sue Lord on violin bringing the performance to a harmonious ending every time.
Her newest recorded work (‘She Took Flight’) has been a long time coming, but she’s focussed on writing for string quartet, making her sound richer than ever. This music is as warm and delicate as it is hard hitting and cinematic with a full string section, percussion and double bass. We can still expect detailed story-telling and humour in the songwriting and lyrics, this time focusing on home, family life and living as a woman in the 2020s.
Daisy has performed as part of Crippled Black Phoenix, together with members of Portishead and Hawkwind. She is also lead vocalist for new prog outfit Venus Principle, but her sound is very much her own. Prepare to be moved.
She has played extensively across the world, including festivals such as Glastonbury, 2000 Trees and Breminale (Germany) and as far as Migration Festival in Taiwan. Her distinctive voice has also been used as backing vocals for some well-known artists, but what is clearly evident about Daisy is that she is a true professional and an experienced artist.
Daisy Chapman will be introducing songs from her upcoming album "She Took Flight!" live on tour in summer 2023 The album will be released on Friday, 05/05/2023.
