Ingrid Veerman singt über ihr Leben als Abenteurerin. Über die Risiken, die das kompromisslose Folgen ihres Herzens birgt. Über das Finden und das Verlieren der Liebe. Nichts liebt die
singende Erzählerin mehr, als ihre Geschichten live mit dem Publikum zu teilen und wer aufmerksam ist, wird mit pikanten Details zur Entstehung ihrer Lieder belohnt.
Ingrid Veerman begann ihre musikalische Reise als singende Bassistin der Garageband de Bossen in den 90ern. Seitdem hat sie viele tausend Kilometer zurückgelegt: Zu Fuß, trampend oder mit dem
Bus; sowohl als Solokünstlerin, als auch mit den verschiedensten Bands der Genre Punk bis Roots reist sie durch Wohnzimmer und Clubs in Europa und den USA bis hin zu den großen Bühnen als Support
für namhafte Bands wie Motörhead und The Walkabouts.
Mit ihrer Band inneke23 & the Lipstick Painters veröffentlichte Veerman zwei Alben, „Elephant Crossing“ und „Charcoal“, das von Chris Eckman (Dirtmusic, The Walkabouts) produziert
wurde.
Auf einer ihrer Reisen findet Veerman sich bei einem Hauskonzert von Dan Stuart (ehemals Green on Red) wieder und trifft dort auf die Band Sacri Cuori (Teil von Hugo Race Fatalists). Sie ist
beeindruckt von dem Enthusiasmus und der vor Lebensfreude sprühenden Live-Show der Italiener und schickt ihnen kurzerhand Demoaufnahmen ihrer eigenen Songs.
Nur kurze Zeit später entsteht das Album „Present“, das sie zusammen mit Sacri Cuori aufgenommen hat - ein Album, das auf den ersten Blick ein Americana-Album zu sein scheint. Doch hört man
genauer hin, sind auf der Platte Veermans gesammelte Erfahrungen der letzten 20 Jahre zu finden. Der Punk der 90er ist ihr nicht verloren gegangen und auch Einflüsse des Classic Rock oder Country
sind nicht zu überhören.

started here musical path as singing bassplayer in the 90's with garageband "de Bossen". Now, 20 years later she looks back at a long rocky and winding musical path. A path paved with many bands
from punk to roots, many different stages going from small intimate livingrooms over big festivals like Lowlands (Nl), Marktrock (B), Strade Blu (It) to famous clubs like CBGB's (NYC) and support
acts for bands like Motörhead, Johnny Dowd, Dead Moon, Steve Wynn, The Walkabouts, the Band of Heathens, the Cowboy Angels, Two Dollar Bash, Eamonn Dowd and Krista Detor and Dan Stuart of Green
on Red. It is not just being a music-loving singer songwriter that brought her to where she is standing now. Above all she's a wild adventurer who allways follows her naive heart knowing that
taking risks can be rewarding as well. "I'm naive, but i don't mind, i'm willing to pay that price" she sings in "I'd rather be a fairplay loser".
She hitch hiked and "Greyhounded" her way through many parts of Europe and the USA. She took her former band "inneke23 & the Lipstick Painters" to Slovenia to record with one of her heroes
Chris Eckman (the Walkabouts, Dirtmusic).
She was crazy enough to contact Antonio Grammentieri after seeing him and his band Sacri Cuori play with Dan Stuart and a while later... she traveled to Italy to record her next album Present
with Antonio and Sacri Cuori! She walked 423 kms with backpack and guitar as a troubadour, playing concerts in livingrooms and small bars and had her kms sponsored so she could afford the
pressing of her album on cd and vinyl... And on that walking tour, on one of these “hard-to-find-magic places” Zennegat13 she heard about Songs & Whispers ... with all due consequences!
Very often she went on a quest to the Love of her life and came back with a broken heart and a sack full of songs! These songs she likes to share. A listening audience gets rewarded with the
spicy details that made her write the songs. When the crowd is loud she doesn't loose her enthusiasm but digs in her "song-sack" for her most lively songs and some covers and just sings her heart
out. For many, mostly practical reasons Ingrid tours by herself most of the time now but on special occasions, when a band is needed she allways finds the right (enthousiastic and good) musicians
to accompany her.
The album Present will be released by Songs & Whispers in September 2015.
